Post Removed … 3 reasons

1) I no longer care. Paul and I recently had a pleasant discussion about home-built computers (something we have in common) over email so I have decided to bury the hatchet for now.

2) I want to scrub the blog of my lesser moments :-)

3) Some nutcase out in the world posts a link to this post at every opportunity … to ostensibly make a point about evil or something :-) … and I don’t like to feed the nuts. So I say …

At least he spends time reading your blog, that's got to be some kind of compliment?

You know ... that's true. In fact, all the people who like to ridicule my blog (slides, jada, paul) demonstrate *intimate* knowledge of the entire content ... they remember more of my posts than I do ... LOL

This is more fun than a bag of glass.

I do note Jada/Velvet Ant/Silent Oracle had nothing good to say about Paul Till in her PMs to me.

There is no honor among thieves.

Yeah ... the Chinese say "may you live in interesting times ..." and it is not meant nicely ... well, I think the FTF is living in interesting times. Of course, most of the button pushers appear to have survived ... but nothing new about that.

She also included Painterdude and Zoran in her hit list.

And then there was her search for GPS in new guise potentially, she thought, as Nightfly.

I tried to persuade her that she had her facts wrong.

I think these things should come out so the hypocrisy is understood amongst the camp mates.

Personally, I think most folks have something positive to contribute, e.g., I like Paul's sharpening. But his personality is unchecked. As I stated to LO, he's not the one you invite to dinner. He's bound to make a mess of everything: himself, the evening. You got it right, he's a scumbag.

To r (whoever you r)

> She also included Painterdude and Zoran in her hit list.

How long ago was this? For at least the last 3, maybe 4 months LO got along very well with painterdude, overlooking his frequently shown ugly side. Then 2 1/2 months ago painterdude posted his OP starting the "what the HS10 can do .." train wreck. It was obvious that that was bound to occur since it always does when an OP includes insults and attacks directed at those that he not only considered to be his enemies, but had also bragged about being on his Ignore List. This is the same thread where I first mentioned "Stepford Oracle" since by her praise of such a divisive OP she seemed to be an entirely different S.O.

Until this point we seemed to have gotten along very well, and "Stepford Oracle" was in no way intended to be an insult or attack, but to point out as obliquely as possible the fact that the old S.O. never would have praised such an offensive OP. If painterdude was on her hit list did she write this before the previous 3 to 4 month period or did she write it more recently, while she was treating painterdude publicly as her new best friend? I'll be very surprised if LO doesn't see this blog thread and if she does, she'll almost certainly know your identity. Is there some reason why you're going incognito here? I'm not saying that you don't have a good reason, it's just that I don't have any idea what the reason might be unless it's to remain on good terms with some folks belonging to the LO/painterdude/Lloydy/etc. axis. But LO is certainly capable of outing you anyway and probably would be willing, unless she snaps and returns to her better S.O. nature, as unlikely as that may be.

Bill, I thought you and the main participants knew I'm dotbalm, sorry if not; I used to sign it at the bottom to avoid confusion, but got lazy once I thought others knew. The email address is a vestige of something else altogether and contains the first initial of my name because I only use my initials in my email address user names (not the smtp name); I made sure that was clear in my first post (or so) here, but moved away from that over time. It's no effort to conceal that I'm dotbalm, but you raise a good point.

So, I'm dotbalm. : ) Nice to meet you. ; )

Anyway, I want to correct something I wrote above because I went back to answer your question, firstly, it was July 22, 2010, but that is moot now because I think I misread the PM.

I think that's only fair to say "Upon further review" in her quest to out a GPS incarnate whom she thought was Nightfly, she mentioned Painter and Zoran as also participating on Deviant Art and provided a link. But looking at the PM again I'd say she wasn't including Painter and Zoran on her hit list per se - my error. So I want to correct that.

Here it is:
Jul 22, 2010 09:45:31

Good points, Dotbalm. Supposedly he resides in Australia but the FOX news....hum.... His photo workshops appear to be based there also. And he affirms to be a biologist and if you do a googlle on him, he appears to be involved in a few projects there - biology based projects. Interesting....chap, isn't he?

Because he attacked me, I did a bit of snooping to know what I was dealing with as he's a nasty old thing. He, Zoran, Painter and a few others participate on Deviant Art. I can find the link if you wish. Also, he has recently put up a Flickr page and apparantly has a new name:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/grey-photographic/

I found one link (I wish I would have kept it) of him and he looked like Frodo as a young man. It was hilarious. Have you seen his Michael Bolton look?

http://www.photo-adventurer.com/thumbs/sydney-photo-tours-15.jpg

Hilarious, eh?

If he's not GPS.....could he be Larry Winters? Or....Slides? Or...Zoran?

Ahhh, the mystery intensifies......and lingers.

Bill, I'm dotbalm. : ) Nice to meet you. ; )

I introduced myself when I first began commenting here and signed dotbalm at the end of my messages briefly, but became lazy since typically I was only speaking w/Kim. My email username of "r" reflects that I only use initials on my email address usernames and it's the first initial of my name. It's something I've always done with all my personal email accounts whether ISP or google, hotmail, etc. This email address was created long before I interacted here, so I haven't changed it.

The PM was July 22, 2010. I went back to check. "Upon further review" I have to say I misinterpreted something - she was after GPS' identity and thought it was Nightfly, which I did not, and found he(?) and Painter and Zoran participated on deviant art. She included other research as well; I tried to post the PM, but there's too much text w/my msg. It's my mistake that I misinterpreted her view of Painter and Zoran. If you all are interested, I can post the whole PM, perhaps it will publish on its own. It goes to the idea of initiating back-channel communication, "conspiracy", outing, and snooping (her word not mine).

Nice to meet you too db. I don't recall ever seeing your "r" sig. I might have recognized you if you showed up here with the name doobie brother. :)

> I think that's only fair to say "Upon further review" in her quest to out a GPS incarnate whom she thought was Nightfly, she mentioned Painter and Zoran as also participating on Deviant Art and provided a link.

Ah, I remember that. IIRC, I tried to tactfully assure her that GPS wasn't this other person (Nightfly or painterdude, I don't recall which but IIRC he was from Canada, not from AU).

A little paranoid, maybe? Which reminds me, maybe she was buffaloed :

> Telling me I got to beware
> I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound

> There's battle lines being drawn
> Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
> Young people speaking their minds
> Getting so much resistance from behind
> I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
> Everybody look what's going down
> What a field-day for the heat
> A thousand people in the street
> Singing songs and carrying signs
> Mostly say, hooray for our side
> It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
> Everybody look what's going down
> Paranoia strikes deep
> Into your life it will creep
> It starts when you're always afraid
> You step out of line, the man come and take you away
> We better stop, hey, what's that sound

Yeah, even LO might find it interesting to re-read, although I doubt that she'd include it in the URL list that she likes to publish.

Bill, Dotbalm, I think LO confused nightfly (a very nice guy from europe) with nightwings (a controversial character that came off at first like GPS.)

Have you guys refreshed your view of this article? Some pretty unpleasant stuff in there ...

Yes, that's the guy I was thinking of. Nightwings is from Canada, at least from his DPR profile. He didn't sound anything like GPS, but even then I felt I had to use some tact and not tell LO that she was flat out wrong.

> Have you guys refreshed your view of this article? Some pretty unpleasant stuff in there ...

If you mean what appears on your blog's home page, I suppose so. I'm not using a URL to get to an article so I may be missing something.

BTW, about the errors I've been seeing while trying to post some comments, the one that appeared just before this one produced this error message when I clicked the [Preview] button :

> Request-URI Too Large
> The requested URL /comment.g... is too large to process.

There were no long URLs to correct this time, not even the string "comment" so nothing stood out as needing to be corrected. So I just ignored the error message, and based on what you previously said, didn't try to re-submit it, and you got it anyway! :)

To Kim....
I got the same treatment but only with a minor bit of bad language!! The coward followed me to my home too (home email a/c) just to get a few slaps into me as well. All because I said that you can't get a f2 50mm prime lens!!
Mailed me at home to give me an earload and to insult my photography skills. He's a bit of a weido. Anybody who gets a total stranger to take a photo of him in a shop so that he can post it to other total strangers on an International Forum to see if his glasses look dorky on him....has something seriously lacking IMO.
Called me a sad B***t**d in his email to me. Feel free to publish that and if you want a copy of the email for headline news...give me a shout.
Anyway, he made my day really. I was able to count my blessings that I have great peace of mind and don't suffer from the mental rage that Paul suffers from.

To Dotbalm....
Ya, So Silent slated Paul, eh? Not surprised. That's because he totally blanked her when she bended on one knee and asked Paulie for forgiveness. But we all know that Paulie isn't the forgiven type...so what was SHE thinking, eh?

Although fairly subdued on this article, the "naturalist" has been extremely obnixious on others ... I think we've just seen Paul's new account on blogger. But it could as easily be slides, as a different name is somewhat anonymous. But I'm going with Paul, since he rants somewhere else about my dick and in another post about how I got Simon to delete the posts in his own thread, which is pretty funny since I am currently banned :-)

Hmmm ... DPReview's user search is unreliable when people are banned ... but I just noticed that Simon cleaned out his thread and wiped out Bill's account. Slides survives again though, proving the value of fawning obsequiousness. I had a gag reflex when I saw what he was doing, and Bill fell into his trap. No shock there at all. Welcome to the new FTF ...

Kim Letkeman said...

Just saw that ULDelboy survived, despite arguing directly with Simon. Does that mean that arguing with slides is the bannable offense? Is that strange to anyone else?

Unknown said...

Billx08,

That's the error I got too. For whatever reason though it ended up posting. 'course, I didn't realize that and posted an abbrev'd version. And yeah, I didn't think Nightfly was GPS either.

Cluck, cluck, cluck, bukaaaahh!

You guys are having fun over here. Ironically this is now the FTF and Kim is the moderator. Funny and sad both at once.

Danielpaolo, nice to see you. Yes, we're having a grand time with our new nemesis ... it's fun to meet new trolls :-) Anyway ... only a few more days until we can get the FTF a-rockin' ... of course, I will have to avoid certain critiques for a while, but when I don't post commentary, he doesn't post anything controversial anyway, strangely enough :-)

Can't wait for the return of a few old heads....the FTF is like a morgue at the moment.....more like the FT SLR Forum!!

Kim - I do not have a copy of what I wrote in that thread. Needless to say everything has been deleted, including my follow up reply to Simon. You may, or maynot have seen what was said in that thread??

The points I made were in my opinion valid, and I'll stand by everything I said. Simon himself must of also thought at least some of the things I said made sense or I would have had a couple of weeks holiday in the sin bin.

The interesting thing is... immediately after my reply to Simon I had messages of support.

It now appears there are quite a few more who also think the bans that you have receieved (for doing nothing more than telling the truth) has turned the Fuji forum into a total farce.

FWIW... if you were to ever receive a perminant ban from the Fuji forum it would be their loss, not yours.

Best regards,
Del

Kim Letkeman said...

Del, I totally agreed with your comments in that thread. I can't quite remember all the machinations that went on, but the bottom line was that you survived despite arguing directly with Simon (I agree that he likely agreed with some of it himself) ... but that people who tangle with slides have a mysterious way of disappearing, despite his primary contribution of trouble and his annoying habit of using insult to prolong arguments that get others banned. In that thread, he was embarrassingly obsequious, fawning all over Simon and managed to get Bill nuked. It all kind of stinks in that area ... anyway, thanks for the kind words. I appreciate them.

When Kimmy boi is permanently banned from DPR it will be one of the best days ever, and the only loss will be that Kimmy boi will no longer be able to promote this pathetic blog there, and that will be HIS loss.

Hey Kimmy boi, your so-called tests suck, you suck, and so do your supporters.

Greg, your name is Greg Dickens and that is also the name of someone very controversial who has apparently been permanently banned from DPReview. He was called Greg Photo Sydney. If you are not that Greg then it was a case of mistaken identity. By the way, cool site on Flickr.
